GDB 37: Touching Base

Hockey’s back! Hockey’s back!

It seems like months ago already, but Hurricanes hockey returns to the Enmax Centre tonight. I know the Christmas break wasn’t long enough for me personally, and I can only imagine it seemed even shorter for the players and their families. That said, it will be great to get back down to the rink! Much has transpired since the Hurricanes last home game and virtually all of it was good news for Lethbridge. The Hurricanes came into the break red hot, and got the second half of the season started right with a big OT win in Medicine Hat Sunday. Where will they go from here?

We will have to wait and see.

As far as blog news is concerned – the team at Canes Domain took some much needed rest over the past week and a half. Unfortunately that meant no coverage of the game Sunday and no proper pregame content today, but the downtime was sensational. Starting tonight, we will be back into full swing with pre and post game coverage for every Hurricanes game. Things are going to ramp up significantly from this point of the season – on. With the trade deadline looming, some big names already moving, and teams jockeying for position across the East, I anticipate a wild and entertaining three months ahead.

Closer to home, I think we will also see the Hurricanes hold their own in the East. With the Canes’ success, I anticipate the buzz around the team will only grow stronger. It would be fantastic to see the attendance rise, energy to grow, and I’m excited to be along for the ride. I could go on about all the tantalizing story-lines heading into the second half, but for now I will leave it here.

The Canes are a great team and they are back home tonight!

Ill see you there.

GDP: Hurricanes win 6-3

OGDP: Tyler Wong will be a machine tonight and score two goals.

NSOGDP: There will be a moment of confusion for casual fans when they forget that home teams wear white jerseys after Christmas. Mass chaos ensues.

What do you think? Who are you excited to watch tonight and what will be the outcome. Comment below.

Don’t forget to check out the sponsor of all this season’s game day articles, Graham Reimer of Dominion Lending here in Lethbridge. I personally know and vouch for the amazing work he does. If you need any advice or help with a mortgage or want to look into getting one, I cannot say enough good things about Graham and the Mortgage Crusher team.

Remember to tell him Canes Domain sent you!
